Nature Connects always seeks to illustrate the connections found in nature.  The Galapagos Tortoise co-exists with the Galapagos Finch, who eats small parasites out of the nooks and crannies in his shell and skin, keeping the bird fed and the tortoise healthy.

Building it

This life-size sculpture is over 5 feet long and contains 23,317 LEGO pieces.  It took my assistant Evan over 290 hours and over 2 months to design and construct.    Did you notice that the tortoise’s eye is a black mini-figure space helmet?
