Sean’s original cartoons, rendered with LEGO bricks

These pieces are part of Sean’s continued effort to imprint his own personal style onto the sculptures he builds with LEGO bricks.

LEGO is too precise, so to feel more hand-drawn these pieces are Intentionally squashy and asymmetrical. Many are caricatures of real people, others provide social commentary.

Sean developed a unique process to create these pieces:. Pencil drawings are mapped into a computer and redrawn as digital illustrations. Those become schematics to build the LEGO structure, using a new technique he devised for semi-3D structures.
